How I got here.

I am a founder and operator based in Marin County. Today I lead marketing and growth at Buildable, and I started Agavia, a tequila and mezcal tasting room in San José del Cabo. Before that I relaunched my family’s company around the copper mug the Moscow Mule is named after.

Early ventures

Golf first — mini tours, and a knee injury that ended that plan.

The first company came after: gear for service dogs, and the habit of building the thing rather than waiting for it.

Agavia

A tequila and mezcal tasting room in San José del Cabo, and the booking and menu systems behind it. The product was an evening, and the software had to disappear.

Marketing & growth

Buildable

Marketing and growth inside an operating software engineering firm: positioning, the service pages that carry it, and reporting on what those pages do.

Built it myself

Software I built myself

Nine, a golf game for a shuffleboard table, built end to end and shipped to TestFlight.

Most of what I build for myself is a tool for a job I was doing by hand — research systems, reporting, small pieces of software that take the tedious part out of a decision without taking the decision.

Off the clock

Marin County, golf, time outdoors, and making things by hand. Golf came first and was going to be the whole plan; it is better as the thing I do on a Saturday.
