Personal AI Setup · by JJ Resnick

Your personal AI,
properly set up.

A private, twelve-month engagement for people who know AI could take real weight off their week, and haven’t had the time to make it work. I learn how your work, household and family actually run, set AI up around them, then coach you one-on-one until it’s second nature.

Less to keep track of. Faster answers. More of your week for the things only you can do.

In person across Marin, Napa and Sonoma · By video anywhere in the U.S.

Personal AI Blueprint

Sample

Five routines, built around one real week.

  1. Bills captured, logged and rememberedHome
  2. Important papers in one searchable placeHome
  3. One family calendar everyone trustsFamily
  4. Email and letters drafted in your voiceWork
  5. A one-page brief before key meetingsWork

Setup

Four hours, in person or by video

Then

Twelve monthly sessions with me

  • Personal

Built around how your week actually runs. No templates.

  • Hands-on

I do the setup with you, in person or by video.

  • A full year

Twelve one-on-one sessions, so it lasts past setup day.

  • Yours

Your accounts, your files, your decisions.

The real problem

You already have the tools. What’s missing is the setup.

The people I work with are good at what they do: business owners, executives, professionals, busy parents. They aren’t short on technology. They’re short on the hours it takes to make it all work together.

  • The bill that came Tuesday is on the counter, and in the back of your mind until it’s paid.

  • The insurance policy, the warranty, the tax letter. You know you have it. Somewhere.

  • You’ve tried ChatGPT. It was impressive for ten minutes, and then it wasn’t part of anything.

  • The school calendar, the game schedule and your work calendar have never once agreed.

An AI subscription is like a beautiful kitchen. It doesn’t make dinner.
The value comes from setting it up around your recurring tasks, your documents and the way you already work, then using it until it’s habit. That’s the part I do with you, and I stay for the year it takes.

What changes

See what your week looks like, properly set up.

Choose one area, or combine all three. Each example is the kind of routine I set up and teach.

Home

Bills, papers and the small things that keep a household running.

The bill on the counter

Before: Opened, set aside, remembered at 11 p.m.

After setup: Photograph it and AI reads the payee, amount and due date. You check it, add it to your bill list and set a reminder. About two minutes, and you still approve every payment.

“Where’s the policy?”

Before: Twenty minutes in drawers and inboxes.

After setup: Important papers scanned into one organized folder, named so you can search for them. Open the policy in your AI and ask when it renews; it answers and points to the page.

The household handbook

Before: Only one person knows where everything is.

After setup: One shared reference document: who to call, where things are, what renews when. We keep it current in our monthly sessions.

What you get back Nothing important lives only in your head, or only on the kitchen counter.

Household

Your AI workspace

  1. Photo · Water district bill
  2. Read this bill.

  3. Water district · $186.40 · due Nov 12 · account ending 4471. Does that match the paper?

  4. Yes. Format it for my bill list.

  5. Here’s the row: Nov 12 | Water district | $186.40 | not on autopay.

  6. Your step: You paste the row into your bill list and set a reminder for Nov 7.
An illustration with example details. Steps in outline are the ones you do yourself.

Work

Correspondence, meetings and documents, handled in less time.

The inbox backlog

Before: Replies written late at night, in your head first.

After setup: Say a few words and get a draft in your voice. You review it, adjust it and send it from your own email.

The 9 a.m. meeting

Before: Skimming the file in the parking lot.

After setup: A one-page brief the night before, built from the documents you choose: who’s in the room, what’s open, what to ask.

The 40-page document

Before: Saved for the weekend.

After setup: A plain-English summary in minutes, with the terms and numbers that matter pulled out for you to check against the original.

What you get back Fewer evenings spent catching up on email and paperwork.

Work

Your AI workspace

  1. SpokenReply to Dave. Thursday works. Ask him to send the lease before then.

  2. Draft: “Hi Dave, Thursday works well. Could you send the lease over beforehand so I can review it? Thanks.”

  3. Make it a little warmer.

  4. “Hi Dave, great, Thursday works for me. Would you mind sending the lease ahead of time so I can give it a proper read? Thanks so much.”

  5. Your step: You copy it into your email, read it once more and send it yourself.

Family

Calendars, activities and trips, organized for the whole house.

The schedule chaos

Before: Three calendars, none of them right.

After setup: Photograph the school or sports schedule and AI turns it into calendar entries. You check the times, then add them to the shared family calendar.

The family trip

Before: Forty browser tabs and a group text.

After setup: Research, a day-by-day itinerary and a packing list, drafted in an evening and shared with everyone. You still choose and book.

“Who’s driving Thursday?”

Before: Decided by text at 7 a.m.

After setup: A shared weekly plan the whole household can see, with reminders on the phones you already own.

What you get back One version of the schedule that everyone trusts.

Family

Your AI workspace

  1. Photo · Fall soccer schedule
  2. Turn these games into calendar events.

  3. I found 9 games, Sep 6 to Nov 1. Please check the times below before you add them.

  4. Game 4 moved to 10 a.m.

  5. Updated. Your calendar file is ready, with a 30-minute alert before each game.

  6. Your step: You open the file on your phone and add the games to the family calendar.

The engagement

Not a one-time install. A year of getting it right.

Setup day is where it starts. The real value comes in the months after, as routines become habits and new needs show up: tax season, a big trip, a new school year.

  1. Week 0

    Private consultation

Thirty minutes to see if this is a fit. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you.

  2. Weeks 1–2

    Your Blueprint

A short questionnaire and a look at your typical week. You approve a written plan: up to five priorities, the tools and their costs.

  3. Weeks 2–4

    Setup day

Four hours together, at your home or office or by video. We set everything up, build your routines and practice them on your real bills, documents and calendar.

  4. One week later

    The check-in

Ninety minutes after a week of real use, to fix whatever didn’t feel right.

  5. Months 1–12

    Monthly sessions

One hour a month with me. We review what’s working, handle a live task together and add one new skill at a time.

What you receive

Everything set up, written down and yours to keep.

  • Your Personal AI Blueprint

A written plan: your priorities, the tools, what they cost and what’s deliberately left out.

  • Your AI, set up properly

ChatGPT or Claude in your own account, on your phone and computer: instructions written for you, a workspace for each part of your life, and privacy settings reviewed together.

  • Up to five working routines

Built around your recurring tasks, tested on your own devices and practiced until you can run them without me.

  • A reference kit

A plain-English guide for each routine, your ground rules and a one-page quick-start card for the kitchen drawer.

  • Twelve monthly sessions

One-on-one with me, usually by video. Review, refine and add what’s next as your needs change.

  • Help between sessions

Email me questions as they come up and I’ll reply within two business days. Guidance, not an on-call service.

Who you’ll work with

You work with me. Not an agency.

I’m JJ Resnick, a founder and operator in Marin County. I’ve spent my career building businesses and the systems behind them, and I build with these AI tools every day. You get one experienced person who understands a full week, not a technician reading from a script.

Now
Lead marketing and growth at Buildable, a custom software engineering firm, working alongside its senior engineers, including on AI setups for executives.
2026
Launched FindMeNow.ai, which helps business owners get found when customers ask AI for a recommendation.
Partner
Agavia, a tequila and mezcal tasting room in San José del Cabo. My side is marketing and growth.
Founder
As President and CEO from 2014, relaunched Moscow Copper Co., my family’s company behind the copper mug the Moscow Mule is named after. Author of Mulehead: Celebrating 75 Years of the Beloved Moscow Mule.
  • An operator, not a technician

I’ve built and run businesses. I set up what will actually get used on a busy Tuesday.

  • Current and hands-on

I build with these tools every day, so you get what works now, not last year’s advice.

  • Small by design

I keep my client list small, so you deal with me directly from the first call to the last session.

More of my story

Personal AI Setup is my independent practice. It is not offered, delivered or endorsed by Buildable.

More than 18 hours with me

One-on-one time across the year, plus the preparation behind every session.

Paid in two parts

Half to begin, half on setup day. In-person travel within Marin, Napa and Sonoma is included.

Not included

Your AI and software subscriptions, paid directly to each provider (often around $20 to $40 a month), and travel beyond the North Bay.

Bigger projects, quoted separately

Digitizing a backlog of paper, connecting financial accounts or custom software. I’ll quote them after seeing what’s involved.

Privacy and control

Your accounts. Your information. Your decisions.

  • You own everything

Your accounts, subscriptions, files and materials are yours, during the engagement and after it.

  • I never hold your passwords

You type your own passwords and recovery codes. I don’t ask for them and I don’t store them.

  • Nothing sensitive without you

Connecting apps, uploading sensitive documents, buying anything or sending anything happens only with your go-ahead.

  • Sensible privacy settings

We review your AI provider’s privacy settings together, including turning off model training where the provider allows it, and agree on what never goes into AI: full account numbers, Social Security numbers and passwords.

  • A person checks the work

AI drafts and organizes; you review and decide. I don’t call anything automatic until it has been tested on your own setup.

  • Handled with discretion

I keep your information in a private client record, share it with no one, and never use your details as an example without your permission. Your AI and storage providers handle data under their own terms, which we read together.

Questions

Fair questions.

Something I haven’t covered? Email jj@jjresnick.com.

Is it worth $12,500 when I could learn this myself?

You could, the same way you could do your own taxes. Most people I talk to have meant to for a year or two. This gets it done properly, around your life, with someone accountable for it still working twelve months from now.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you use a smartphone and email, you have everything you need. I handle the setup, and you learn only what you’ll actually use.

I already pay for ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot. Do I start over?

No. We start with what you already have, on the phone and computer you already use, and add only what earns its place.

How much of my time does it take?

About 30 minutes of preparation, the four-hour setup session, a 90-minute check-in, then one hour a month.

Will AI open my mail and pay my bills?

No, and be wary of anyone who says it will. You photograph a bill, AI reads it and you log it in a couple of minutes. Reminders and your bank’s autopay do the rest, and you approve every payment.

In person or remote?

Either. I come to you anywhere in Marin, Napa and Sonoma, or we work by video from anywhere in the U.S. Monthly sessions are usually by video.

Can you work with my spouse or partner?

Yes. The Household engagement covers two adults in one home, with a shared family routine and monthly sessions either of you can join.

How soon can we start?

After the consultation, setup usually happens within two to four weeks, depending on both our calendars.

What happens after twelve months?

You keep everything and can run it yourself. If you’d like to keep meeting, we can talk about continuing.

Is this a Buildable service?

No. Personal AI Setup is my independent practice for individuals and households. For AI work across a whole organization, I’ll point you to the right firm.

Next step

Let’s see what’s worth setting up first.

Tell me a little about your week. In a 30-minute private consultation, I’ll tell you honestly what I’d set up first, what it would take and whether we’re a good fit. No cost and no pressure.

  1. Send this short form. It takes about two minutes.

  2. I reply personally, usually within one business day, with a few times to talk.

  3. We talk for 30 minutes by phone, by video or over coffee in the North Bay.
